I often get questions and comments on Instagram about my Longchamp Le Pliage bags, so I decided to devote a post to them. First, let me start by saying how completely uninterested I was in Longchamp Le Pliage bags in the past. I've seen them in the Duty Free shops in every airport I've ever traveled through. I've seen women here in the states and abroad carrying them and I never got it! What was the hype with these bags? They weren't really my style, as I always gravitated towards leather bags. I never considered buying one until last year.
Last summer on my trip to Paris I only packed one bag to keep things simple and my suitcase as light as possible. It was a round wicker crossbody that went well with all of my outfits. Although the bag was very stylish, it was completely unpractical because of it round shape and hard shell. I couldn't access my things or close the bag without keeping it flat to ensure everything was packed inside perfectly. After a couple of days of frustration with the bag, I desperately wanted a new one. As we strolled the streets of Paris, I noticed a lot of women carrying various sizes of the Longchamp Le Pliage and began to be intrigued. I decided this was the perfect time to buy one and see what the hype was all about. We came across the large Lonchamp store on Champs-Élysées one afternoon so I went in and purchased the small Le Pliage tote in navy. It was surprisingly roomy and very light! I loved it from the moment I started carrying it and I've been hooked ever since. I have added several more colors to my collection since that fateful day, including a larger size that I use as a carry-on when traveling.
The best thing about these bags is their light weight. Unlike a lot of other bags I own, they don't make my arm hurt after lugging them around. They are also very roomy. I carry quite a lot of things in such a small bag and still have room for more, if need be. They hold my wallet, cosmetic case, brush, sunglasses, keys, and other miscellaneous items. I've even put a water bottle in there. The nylon body of the bag is waterproof and washes easily, which means I don't have to stress about it getting dirty. Another great feature is the fact that it folds into the size of a wallet. These bags are very easy to store or pack as they don't take up a lot of space. My larger leather bags take up a good chunk of my closet but I have the Le Pliage neatly stored in a corner inside a small basket. I can collect them in multiple colors without them consuming my storage space.
I currently own several different colors and I wear them every single day. I switch them out to match my outfit, my mood, or both. They have become my signature style! I've purchased them from Nordstrom, Gilt, eBay, and Postmark. I'm very particular about my bags, so I only buy them in new condition. There are some great deals on these bags online, but make sure they are authentic before purchasing. There is an abundance of information online on how to spot a fake and I recommend you do some research if considering buying from resale websites.
