A Sunday Well Spent...

It's finally starting to feel like summer. The weather is getting warmer, the schedules are lighter, and everything seems to go at a slower pace. With more free time on our hands, we decided to explore a somewhat new [to us] neighborhood of Chicago, called Lincoln Square. We've been there before, briefly, and loved the European vibe of the area. This particular day we made lunch reservations and headed out with the intent of enjoying a nice meal, a leisurely walk, and a little local shopping at the cute boutiques and specialty stores.

We ate at Bistro Campagne, which I highly recommend, if you're in the area. They're open for dinner only, except on Sundays, when they offer lunch, as well. After perusing the menu, we decided on Soupe à l’Oignon Gratinée and Croque Madame. The servings are very generous and very delicious! They have a charming outdoor dining area that makes you feel like you are in France. It is a beautiful setup, but sadly closed this afternoon, due to a downpour just minutes before we arrived. We have an excuse to go back later this summer!

A long walk was in order after such a filling meal. We walked and explored the neighborhood to our heart's content and eventually headed home to enjoy the rest of the evening. The old saying is true, "a Sunday well spent, brings a week of content!" I love starting the week feeling relaxed and ready to take on anything!

I finally took out my favorite espadrilles from last summer and paired them with a navy wrap midi skirt, a simple but elegant tee, and my vintage wicker bag. The perfect summer outfit, in my opinion! The skirt is no longer available, but there are some similar options linked below. The tee is a new purchase from JCrew, which is currently on sale (I may need another color), the espadrilles are from Amazon, also linked below. I dare you to find a more comfortable pair of espadrilles! A wicker bag is a must and I found a couple of similar onions, also linked below. Just click on the image to browse or shop.
